21 Dec, 2017 (Kathmandu) / The Department of Mines and Geology has granted permission for exploration of minerals to 129 individuals and companies across the country.
The Minerals Heritage Division of the Department carried out a study of the available minerals and granted the permission accordingly. Of them, 52 are for limestone, four for quartz, five for red mud, 14 for coal, three for glass, 12 for talc, three for iron, three more marble, one for magnesite, one for zinc among others.
The division carried out a study in 364 locations and granted permission for the 129 locations, said the division Chief Ram Prasad Ghimire. Majority of the companies are Nepalis along with four from India and three from China.
