22 Dec, 2017 (Kathmandu) / The Election Commission (EC) is set to make public the number of seats the political parties have secured towards the Proportional Representation (PR) system of the federal and provincial parliamentary elections on Friday.
Election Commission Secretary and Election Officer towards PR System Begendra Raj Sharma Poudel informed that the PR final results will be disclosed today. He said all the preparations required for making public the PR results are complete.
The results will be made public after the meeting of Election Commission this afternoon, he shared.
With the disclosure of the preliminary results of the PR, the EC will give a weeklong timeline for the political parties to arrange the inclusive base of the closed list of candidates and endorse the decision from the central committee meeting.
The political parties will be served extra three days time for the correction or amendment to the names submitted to the EC.
As the next step, the EC will present a report with the seats secured by the political parties on proportional basis and the list of winner candidates to the President.
