17 Dec , 2017 (Kathmandu) / Vote counts of the recently held elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies towards the proportional representation (PR) system have been completed, the Election Commission said. However, announcement of the final results is awaited, according to EC Spokesperson Nawaraj Dhakal.
So far 9,544,641 votes have been confirmed to be valid. The latest results show that the CPN (UML) has been in the first position with 3,173,494 votes while the Nepali Congress is in the second place with 3,128,389 votes. The CPN (Maoist Centre) has garnered 133,071 votes, thus becoming the third party in the PR system.
Likewise, the Rastriya Janata Party has secured 472,254 votes, the Federal Socialist Forum has bagged 470,201 and the Bibeksheel Sajha has obtained 212,366 votes.
Similarly, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has achieved 196,782 votes, the RPP (Democratic) 88,377, the Naya Shakti Party Nepal 81,837 and the Rastriya Janamorcha has secured 62,133 votes.
